THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS) CALIBRATION KIT

Description

The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is a low-voltage potentiometer which relays throttle position to the computer. This information, along with other factors, decides how rich the fuel mixture will be at any given open throttling point. Any change in idle setting due to engine performance upgrades has the potential to also affect TPS voltage. Even something as simple as changing your idle set screw can throw off voltage. Idle quality and throttle response can be adversely affected if voltage is not within the prescribed factory range. It is vital that voltage remains set between this specified parameter for maximum performance. This "jumper" plugs inline between your engine wiring harness and TPS, keeping you from having to probe your vehicle wiring. With the aid of easy to follow, step by step instructions, and a multimeter (voltmeter) you simply adjust the TPS to obtain the correct reading. The instructions included are a compellation of numerous Ford Technical Publications and Service Literature, including both TPS and idle setting procedures. You will be able to calibrate TPS voltage anytime you modify your engine, making it possible to tune your vehicle every time without worry. Fiveology Racing recommends recalibrating your TPS with any engine performance upgrade.
